GOLD 2009

Last night was our second annual GOLD (Girls Overnight Leadership Development) event at Oak Hall School. Irene and I, along with a team of eleven high school girls, welcomed 23 eighth grade girls into the school for a night filled with lessons on dating, body image, drugs, and alcohol; exercises, including zumba (so, so, so much fun!) and yoga; tons of food (pizza, chicken fingers, brownies, cookies, chips, etc.); fun activities like cookie decorating, parafin waxing, beading, and some game cube games; and so much more! The night was so much fun and so smooth!

The really crazy part: we managed to make it from 5:30 yesterday evening until 8:00 this morning without a wink of sleep!

Caroline even dragged herself out of bed to come into the school at 6 in the morning to speak with the girls. I owe you one! Thanks, Caroline!!

And a special mad props to Irene. She is an all-star pregnant woman! She stayed up all night and did a full zumba class at midnight! You go girl! Plus, it was just great getting to hang out and chat all night, too! Thanks so much for making the night so much fun.

Irene and I hanging out before midnight... We took another picture late to compare, and we definitely look much more excited and awake here!
Our awesome High School Survival kits for the eighth grade girls. How cute do they look?!
Our sweet shirts!
