Outdoor Fun!

Rake, rake, rake...all day long...
Today, Shawn and I buckled down for a little while and started raking our leaves. Before we started, there was a brown carpet of leaves and pollen on our grass. Riley joined us and had a ball outside playing and eating leaves, swimming/standing in her pool, rolling around in piles of leaves, and taking strolls down the street (with one of us). She was so dirty afterwards, but we wanted her to eat first and then bathe her. I am not even kidding: the kid had a layer of dirt and spaghetti sauce on her! But boy, did she have fun and tire herself out. And, she somehow manages to still look beautiful no matter how dirty she is.

Grandma's Spring Visit!

This morning, I dropped my mom off at the Gainesville airport after her two and a half day visit. Though her time here was short, we had a blast - and, it was awesome for my mom to see Riley walking. On Thursday night, we enjoyed a great dinner with my Grandpa, Aunt Barb, and Uncle Ray at Olive Garden. Then, mom stayed home with Riley on Friday, and once the baby went to bed, we took a walk to DQ at nine at night. Shawn definitely did not think we could do the 3+ mile hike, but we showed him! Saturday was filled with shopping, cleaning, organizing, and playing with Riley. So much fun!

Mom, thanks for a wonderful visit!! We miss you already!!

Mom brought Riley a gift from Tracy: her very own set of scrubs!! Yeah, Dr. Riley!!

GOLD 2009

Last night was our second annual GOLD (Girls Overnight Leadership Development) event at Oak Hall School. Irene and I, along with a team of eleven high school girls, welcomed 23 eighth grade girls into the school for a night filled with lessons on dating, body image, drugs, and alcohol; exercises, including zumba (so, so, so much fun!) and yoga; tons of food (pizza, chicken fingers, brownies, cookies, chips, etc.); fun activities like cookie decorating, parafin waxing, beading, and some game cube games; and so much more! The night was so much fun and so smooth!

The really crazy part: we managed to make it from 5:30 yesterday evening until 8:00 this morning without a wink of sleep!

Caroline even dragged herself out of bed to come into the school at 6 in the morning to speak with the girls. I owe you one! Thanks, Caroline!!

And a special mad props to Irene. She is an all-star pregnant woman! She stayed up all night and did a full zumba class at midnight! You go girl! Plus, it was just great getting to hang out and chat all night, too! Thanks so much for making the night so much fun.

Irene and I hanging out before midnight... We took another picture late to compare, and we definitely look much more excited and awake here!
Our awesome High School Survival kits for the eighth grade girls. How cute do they look?!
Our sweet shirts!

Our beautiful baby...

After reading Irene's posts about playing with pictures on photoshop, I thought I would spend a little time on Picasso to get some pictures ready to print for Riley's baby book (my goal is to have it finished by her first birthday!). It was a blast!! Anyways, here is one that I liked a lot. I wish I could do a little more with the background, but alas, I am a rookie. Enjoy!

Laryn came to visit!!

Yesterday, my best friend from high school, who now lives in Buffalo, New York, drove from Orlando to Gainesville to visit Riley, Shawn, and me. It was awesome for her to meet Riley and for us to hang out. It has been two years since we have seen each other, so it was great just to be able to chat and catch up in person.

We had so much fun together, too! With Riley, we went to Moe's for lunch, Oak Hall to drop off food for Shawn, the mall to do some walking and buy some shoes for Riley, and then just spent the afternoon hanging out at the house. We played some Mario Cart and compared pictures of our trips to Hawaii. All in all, it was such a wonderful day!

Laryn, I cannot thank you enough for coming to visit! I miss you so much, and I cannot wait to travel up north to see your new place this summer and be in your wedding!

How do we go from being high school students driving around town to women with husbands and baby girls and homes? Crazy. Just crazy.

Riley was just too fast for us in this picture. She zoomed in front of Laryn before I could snap the picture!

One Tree Hill Heaven

Shamelessly, I have to admit my latest obsession: One Tree Hill. Thanks to Claire, I am now completely in love with Lucas, Blaire, Peyton, Nathan, Haley, Skills, and little Jamie Lucas Scott. Seriously, it is a great show! Here's the best part: I can watch the whole thing online. There is this site, http://www.watchonetreehillonline.com/, and you can watch every episode from every season. Now, there is one catch. You can only watch 72 minutes in a row, and then you have to take a break for 54 minutes. Kind of crazy and random, but it gives me a break to do other things around the house.

If you get a chance, check it out. Hours of enjoyment!
